Foundation/Powder: Always start with a good foundation! Make sure it matches your skin color. If you have flaky skin, try using a light moisturizer before applying the foundation. Also, if you need to lighten your foundation’s color a little try adding white, cream moisturizer. It will also help keep your skin soft and flake free! If you are plagued with dark circles under your eyes, or have some blemishes you’d like to hide be sure to apply concealer. Try Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer. Some prefer to put it on before they apply foundation, but it’s really up to you. Be sure to apply powder to finish off your foundation. Katy likes Guerlain Les Voilettes Loose Powder.
Blush: When it comes to blush, Katy likes to keep it natural. Apply a light pink, or bronzy blush (depending on your overall look) to your cheekbones.
Eyeshadow/Liner/Mascara: Katy loves that smokey, cat-eyed look. Start out with your base color and apply it to the lids of your eyes. Then apply your contour color (usually a darker version of your base color, but feel free to get creative) to the outer crease of your eye. Begin blending the color inward. Apply liner to the top of your eyes only. Katy likes to thicken the line as she moves toward the outer lid. She also loves big, thick lashes. To really re-create Katy Perry’s eyes you’ll need to apply fake lashes. She also tends to go heavy on the mascara on her bottom lashes. You can finish the look by applying a little of your base shadow color to those bottom lashes as well.
Brows: Katy has very defined, accentuated brows. In fact, VanityMark Brow Gel is one of the items in her makeup bag! If you choose to use a brow pencil, try to pick one that is the same color as your brow.
Lips: No Katy Perry look would be complete without the right lipcolor! Katy loves bright colors, especially pinks and reds. Choose whichever is right for your overall look. If your eyes are subtle, make your lips pop with a bright red or pink lip. If you’d rather accentuate your eyes, choose a nude or gloss.
